Cha cha is the most common dance played in most events, Followed by square rumba, most commonly danced by Malaccans.   I am having a group lesson of 4 people, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am to 11am.  Anyone interested please call for appointment.

I need a non malay female about 5ft 4ins and above to help me in marketing the social dance class.

Age doesn't matter. Training will be given. Salary is negiotiable.

Practice Makes Perfect

All social dancers in Malacca are invited to join in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning social dance practice at  9am.

We need to practice the lessons which we have learnt or else we will forget the steps. 

If you practice alone , it is boring but if you join us , it will be very interesting and  we will all enjoy each others company.

Dance Club

I am going to form a social dance club, where all those social dancers in Malacca can meet once a month to have dinner and dance. 

If you are interested, do call me and when I can get 10 people we will form a committee to start this dance club.

Dance jaming session

Many people can dance but some dance more gracefully than others. How well you dance depends on how much time you put into practising. Some practice 1 hour , 2, 3 , 4 hours a day. How much time do you put into your practice?   My  dance jaming session is at 9.30am , Monday to Friday.  If you are interested to join do call me.

I am going to promote social dancing in any organisation in Malacca in the mornings between 9am to 11am . I am not going to charge any fees , but they may donate if they want to. This is subject to first come first served because of availablity of time.

Learn basic Jive. You will be shown step by step till you get it. All you need is practice.

I have been a student and still learning to improve myself. I know what a student wants and feels when attending dance classes. The reason is simply because I was a student myself.

Social dance is easier to learn.

There are many teachers who teaches social dance.  Each teacher has his or her own style to teaching.

I have gone thru 7 teachers. I pick the best methods from the teachers and transfer to my students. There are so many line dancers but very few social dancers, why? It is easier to learn social dance than line dance.

In line dance, one song , you need a set of moves.   If you have 10 songs , you need 10 sets of moves.  I have learnt 80 songs and I have learnt 80 sets of moves. I cannot remember them all.

But in social dance , if  I learn 1 set of Cha cha.  I can dance hundreds of Cha cha songs. Why don't you give it a try?  I can arrange for you a partner if you don't have any.

H&W Waltz

Have you heard of  H&W Waltz?

If you are a husband and wife team, you should learn this waltz. It is different from  most of the waltz that you have seen.

Come to my studio this coming Monday, 16th of August at 9.30am and see for yourself.

Attention Malaccans

How many people in Malacca are between the ages of 25 to 55? Maybe about 300,000.

There only about 300 of  them including men and women, who do social dancing. Normally these are the same people we see when we go dancing.  Do you agree?

There are about 7 dance instructors in Malacca having their dance studios.
Those interested to learn social dancing please contact me. There are about 23 dances to learn. If you know 6, it would be sufficient. Because these 6 dances are very common in the dance places.  They are,  Cha Cha, Rumba,  Waltz,  Rock and Roll, Foxtrot (basic) and Disco Rock.

Almost anyone can learn  Foxtrot (basic)  in 2 hours.
If you cannot do in 2 hours, I will refund your money back immediately after the lesson.

Of course if you want to dance gracefully , you need lots of practice.

History Of Ballroom

Ballroom started in Malacca in 1940. At that time the Straits Born Chinese of Malacca were learning ballroom dancing from the British.

Their studios was concentrated around Jalan Gelanggang (Now called Jonker Walk). They used the 1st floor because it was made of wood and it makes a perfect floor for dancing. Most of them are English educated. They go for Dinner and Dance at the Malacca Club which is now the Memorial Building at Bandar Hilir.

In 1950s when Rock and Roll and the Cha cha were introduced, Ballroom dancing became less popular, but its evergreen . People are still learning Ballroom dancing today.


Dancing is divided into 3 groups. Ballroom, Latin and Social. If you are interested to know more do call me.
